MERA Was Born to Solve a Problem
We started in 1973 as 12 independent medical equipment service firms who recognized
the need for a higher and more uniform level of service to hospitals and manufacturers.
Our mission was to share knowledge and skills in order to provide improved
service.
In the early 1980s, a manufacturer asked us to develop a national service
contract with central communication and billing. It was the first program
of its type by a third-party supplier, and its success indicated there was
a market
for similar programs for other manufacturers.
How the Solution Evolved
Today, MERA is the largest and most experienced alliance of independent medical
and scientific equipment maintenance and repair companies in the world. Almost
