MERAcademy Training Support Program
MERAcademy was conceived to solve a problem, i.e.: how do we consistently provide
our growing client base with trained service technicians, where and when
they are needed.
MERAcademy was the solution, and it’s a MERA exclusive, no other third-party
service organization has anything like it, and is now in its second successful
decade.
MERAcademy Is a Cost-Effective Training Solution
It is practical because it’s designed, refined, and systematized to meet
the high priority needs of both manufacturers and technicians. Here’s
how it works –
Each year we hold 2-3 MERAcademy training meetings, in the Chicago, IL
area. The central location makes it easy for manufacturers and MERA personnel
located
anywhere to attend.
We invite selected manufacturer clients to come to a MERAcademy, to train
MERA technicians from targeted geographic areas, on specific equipment
models and/or important related subjects. Manufacturer training sessions
can be as
short as 2-3 days, or as long as 2-3 weeks, depending on the complexity
of the subject and depth of material.
Technicians are chosen for training by owners of MERAffiliates located
in the targeted areas. Attendance at a typical MERAcademy averages 100-140
experienced
field service technicians, most of whom have been to prior MERAcademies,
and are serious about the continuing education.
MERAcademy presents manufacturers with opportunities to train technicians
in many subject areas, e.g.: new and upgraded equipment; software modifications;
safety checking and trouble-shooting; preventive maintenance; parts handling
and logistics; use of special tools and test equipment; compliance requirements;
adverse conditions and hazards, etc.
What Are MERAcademy’s Tangible BENEFITS FOR YOU?
You can target service coverage with the same geographic priorities your
sales department targets sales coverage, and MERA service support
is almost always local.
You can provide trained service support to the sales force in larger
or more diverse geographic areas, whether urban or rural, more quickly.
The participation of multiple manufacturers at a MERAcademy means more
technicians will attend, as their companies can spread expenses over several
classes.
Technicians in training not only incur expenses, but mean lost revenue
to their companies. Therefore MERAffiliate owners are very serious about
the return
on the investment, through the expanded knowledge and expertise that you
provide.
We
have established policies that reflect the importance of training to us and
our manufacturer clients. Written into them is a commitment to the benefits
clients should expect following training.
“The CLIENT should expect to see improved customer perceptions of
service, faster response to service calls, low repeat call rates and no cost
for repeat
calls, and an overall reduction in the cost of individual service events.”
